Private tutor in Rocklin, CA

BA in Mathematics Education from Seattle Pacific University 2010
Experience
I have been tutoring on and off for the past 14 years and have had students ranging from 5th grade through college. I am passionate about youth development in all avenues and really enjoy seeing students gain an understanding and new appreciation for math. Instead of becoming a full classroom teacher, I decided that I preferred to work with students one-on-one or in small groups. My background is primarily in math, but I also am very interested in the sciences and have taken college level courses in chemistry, physics, biology, and exercise science.

Hobbies
In going with your typical stereotype categories, I consider myself to be half nerd and half jock! Obviously I am passionate about math and science, but I particularly love anything that is a puzzle or logic related! My other main passion is sports and the outdoors. I have been in sports my whole life and was an assistant coach for the Seattle Pacific University Rowing team. I spent the last 4 years as an active duty Naval Officer, and am now in the reserves to follow my passion for forensic investigations. For years, I have had a fascination with criminal justice and I plan to begin grad school for Forensic Science in about a year and a half.
